Mr Tubbs/Wpg Bathtub Refinishing LTD in Winnipeg provides bathtub refinishing, glazing and more. Below are some of the questions we have tried to answer, related to the services we provide.

If you have further queries, you can always reach us.

Why is refinishing better than replacing?

When you refinish your bathtubs or sinks, rather than replace, it can save almost 75% of the cost required to buy a new one. Moreover, refinishing takes less time along with adding value to your property.

How long will the refinishing last for?

This depends on the condition the bathtub is subjected to. With proper care after the service, the refinishing can last up to 10 years or beyond.

When is the time to refinish your bathtub?

When you notice dullness, roughness, stains, lost enamel coating on the surface of your bathtub, it’s time to give it a refinish.

What is the time taken for glazing?

It takes about 3.5 to 4.5 hours.

What is the waiting time after the service is done?

A time of about 24 hours is recommended, after the service is done.

If the bathtub is flaking, can it be repaired?

Yes, it can be refinished. But, if the flaking is significant, it’s recommended to remove the old coating and refinish it professionally again.

What is the guarantee on our services?

We offer a 5-year warranty on residential bathtub refinishing and a 1-year warranty on rental properties and fiberglass and acrylic.

What care needs to be taken to properly maintain the refinishing?

The new finish on your tub will last many years if proper care is taken. The following suggestions will help you maintain the surface of the tub.

CARE TIPS

The new finish on your tub will last years if care is taken. The following suggestions will help you to properly maintain the surface of the tub.

Do not use the tub for 24 hours. This will ensure that the new enamel has dried properly.
Clear everything out from the bathroom.
After 24 hours, remove the bags from the taps. To remove the tape from the drain, poke a hole in the centre and then pull the tape carefully off the drain.
Make sure the taps don’t drip. Leaking taps should be corrected as soon as possible.
A fine dust will occur from the product we use; it can be wiped down.
Harsh chemicals such as gasoline, lighter fluid, or hydrogen peroxide should not be used in the tub. Some dyes (hair or clothes) may also discolour the surface and these should not be used in the tub.
Do not use any product containing bleaches.
Do not use bath bombs as they will stain the finish.
Do not use any abrasive cleaners, such as Vim, Dutch Cleaners, Tylex, or Comet.
Do not leave water sitting on the surface. Wipe down if necessary.
Do not use abrasive pads on the surface.
Do not leave wet soap or shampoo/conditioner bottles on the surface.
Do not leave bathmat in the tub after using, dry the mat between uses.
Oven racks or metal toys may scratch the surface. These should never be put in the tub.
Best cleaners to use are clear products, such as Simple Green and dish soap.
When working in or around the tub, please put down a towel or old blanket first.
Use only mildew-resistant kitchen and bath silicone around the tub.
Extend the life of your tub by polishing 1 to 2 times a year with gel-gloss.
While care is taken to mask carefully, Mr Tubbs/Wpg Bathtub Refinishing LTD will not be responsible for loose tiles, tub surrounds pulling from the wall, or loose coating along the tub edge.

Failure to comply with the above may void the warranty.
